That sort of thing would be easier to work out using an in-memory debugger, but if you want to go the ROM route. N64 ROMs have an internal checksum on data from 0x1000 to 0x101000 kept in the header at 0x10. APS. BPS. IPS. MOD (Star Rod). PPF. UPS. VCDiff (xdelta).
