Airport Utility 5.6.1.2 is a practical utility that guides owners of Apple's AirPort devices to share a wireless Internet connection. The main interface of this application on Windows is rather easy to understand. It includes two panels, the right-hand side is where a list of discovered Airport networks will be displayed. I am aware it is incompatible with AirPort Utility 6.1, so I have connected it by ethernet cable to a my G5 PowerMac running OSX 10.5.8 and airport utility 5.6.1. It does not detect it at all. I also tried connecting it by wifi to my windows pc running Airport Utility 5.6.1 and it also does not detect it.

By using AirPort Utility you have the possibility to configure your computer to access an AirPort network or set up an AirPort Base Station. It manages to do so by establishing a wireless connection through a base station or Time Capsule that is connected directly to the Internet.
