This document describes how to use the Adobe text engine—the text API provided by the Adobe® Illustrator® CC 2015.3 SDK—in your Illustrator plug-ins. It describes text-related use cases that solve typical programming problems such as inserting, deleting, and styling text. Illustrator is all around you. Adobe Illustrator is the industry-standard vector graphics software that’s used by millions of designers and artists to create everything from gorgeous web and mobile graphics to logos, icons, book illustrations, product packaging, and billboards.

Sync Settings

Sync Settings has been removed in Illustrator CC 2015.2. The existing service in Illustrator CC and CC 2014 will become unavailable in the near future.

CC Charts (Preview)

The following issues have been fixed in this release of Adobe Illustrator:

(Mac) Right-click does not work on El Capitan, in a dual-monitor setup (4070053).
Illustrator crashes after selecting/renaming/deleting layers that do not have an insertion point, after switching between documents (4026736).
(Windows) The name of a new document displays incorrectly while using Japanese (5C or SurrogatePairJP) characters (4026386).
(Non-English OS) Values in numeric edit fields increase on changing the focus from the field after printing the document to PostScript (4026374).
(Non-English OS) Illustrator's Preferences files unusable after printing the document to PostScript (4026330).
(GPU) Driver warning should contain a hyperlink to a knowledgebase article containing further troubleshooting information (4025630).
(Windows) Some characters of the Korean language appear illegibly in certain panels and menus, on Japanese language operating systems (4025571).
(GPU) Illustrator crashes on saving a file to EPS format (4025008).
(GPU) Non-native art is not rendered (4024804).
(GPU) Errors occur when placing, copying, or pasting attached, non-native art (4024661).
(Windows) Character options display illegible text (4023470).
Anti-aliasing issues with thin strokes and filled paths (4021777).
Anti-aliasing issues with some parts of paths (4021767).
Anti-aliasing produces artifacts (lines or dots) at the edges of overlapping objects in blending mode (4021764).
(GPU) On computers with multiple GPUs, even if one GPU is unsupported, the GPU feature gets disabled (4021342).
'Compatible GPU not found' may be an incorrect error message (4021326).
Libraries become unresponsive while adding assets (4017829).
(Windows, GPU) The GPU feature does not work and Illustrator crashes at launch (4014175).
(GPU) Insufficient information about GPUs on multi-GPU computers (4012064).
Behance does not work, despite being configured correctly (4011280).
Guides appear as solid lines despite being set to having a dotted appearance through the Preferences panel. (4008022).
(Mac) File Preview in the Open dialog (column view) displays only part of the image. (3998672).
(Windows, GPU) The OS stops responding on creating artwork, using the GPU mode. (3996015).
(GPU) Blend objects or groups with a Knockout group do not render correctly (3993709).
Typekit does not display the appropriate messages based on type of account and associated privileges (3993373).
Thumbnails of files are not updated if the graphic's name has Japanese characters in it (3992514).
(GPU) Pencil feedback stops working. (3990401).
Place/Link/Embed EPS artwork with Type 42 font is not rendered (3990277).
(GPU) Illustrator switches to Outline mode in CPU mode, for files having gradient mesh at zoom level 6400% or more (3990108).
(Windows) Rendering issues occur on applying blending mode to an object (3985073).
(GPU) Linked EPS and PDF do not render correctly (3970562).
A double edge is observed on resizing the radius of rounded corners using the corner widget (3965177).
Artifacts are observed on multiple overlapping paths (3927319).
(Mac) Illustrator crashes on moving/dragging/dropping any object between panels when the Chrome browser extension 'Pushbullet' is installed on the computer (3864165).
